Ochi is head of JKA Germany. Very accomplished. If you study kata a long time, you don't need specific knowledge of judo, aikido etc because all the motions are in there. Ochi is a masterful student.

@chapusa100 yes the side thrust to often turns in to a push kick accomplishing nothing .A side snap will drop you on the spot.

I have practiced and taught shotokan kata for 50 years and I am always dissapointed by demonstrations of multiple opponent bunkai.My sensei who trained in JAPAN and his SENSEI YAMADA an early student of FUNAKOSHI and HIGAONNA emphasized that kata was not a device for fighting multiple opponents but a record of various strategys for defeating one opponent .Consider that many of the very early masters were illiterate and this was their method of record keeping .

This is very interesting! I see that Sensei is doing this kata, the same way it was done in the 1956 movie 'Karate-do' the use of Yoko-geri keage, and gake-tsuki, as opposed to yoko-geri-kekomi, a thrust kick at 0:22 and 0:24.........The orinal way works very well! Thank you for sharing.

This is a nice bunkai! No artsy and dramatic execution that you can see in other (what they thought is) bunkai.
