    Legolas, as described, was more enduring than an average elf. Just like some people are better at drinking than others, the same is with the elves. Even though their vigor and somewhat super-natural characteristics amplify that ratio.

    ... scene and they wanted to keep it in, so they only put it in the extended version, thinking that it would not be to much of an issue. So I am wondering, when they get to that part in the book, what will they do? Are they going to change something, or are they just going to leave it as is and hope no one notices (to late for that)? I can't wait till it comes out so I can see it and see what they do.

    I love this scene, it is super funny! But with the Hobbit coming out, this could cause a plot hole (warning mild spoiler if u haven't read the book). In the Hobbit, the dwarves escape the wood-elf king's palace because bilbo stole the keys from the drunken guard (a wood-elf of mirkwood like legolas) but as it is shown here, wood-elves can REALLY hold their liqueur, so how would the guard get drunk??? I think they were thinking that they might put out the hobbit even then, but they liked the...
