  • Why did all the news stations get it wrong?!

First, It got to 51 mph, not 46.

Second, When the officer shot at it, they weren't draining the fuel, they were trying to hit the Emergency Fuel Cutoff Switch, so no fuel could get to the engine.

And Third, the employee that did get onboard to apply the brakes and stop the train only got on because it was slowed by 2 engines coupling to it from behind, like in Unstoppable.

Why do news stations always get their stories wrong?!

  • Lmao I had a argument with some1 saying that the movie is real.. Now I look like an idiot lol.. I jus knew that some guy slowed it down with another train lol

  • yea and in the film thers 2 locos on the runaway train and 1 loco to try and slow it? so why in real life was it the other way round with only 1 loco pulling and 2 on the rear to slow it??

  • LOL...i thought the same!!!

  • why did it not blow up, when the copper shot it? made in europe??

  • @ChipperJonesFan1231 Yes, this did inspire the movie Unstoppable, but still the movie is loosely based off this runaway train. In the movie they used Pennsylvania as the setting, but the actual incident happened in Ohio.

  • Hahahaha.......the only guy they could "sacrifice" to try and do the "run-and-try-to-jump-on-board-a-moving-train-stunt" , was the slowest, most overweight, middle aged dude that works for the rail company?

  • the spokesperson said it's possible... what?

  • @denison1126 That train was switching and the brake system was not charge up. Only the engine had brakes but when the engineer jump from the cab to flip the switch he put the brakes on but no hard enough and that actual melted away after the train got on the main. Also when the loco brake is applied it turns off the dead mans switch and he used the loco brake when he tried to stop for the switch.

  • @denison1126 this was before those were required so i dont think freight trains had them

  • Why didn't the dead mans pedal keep this from happening??... I didn't want to watch the movie because I thought it was Hollywood forget about such a thing... Apparently, this is a true story...
