Once upon a time I did this film about a transgender individual named Drew. In the film, Drew must chose between her gender identity and her lover. It is a simple portrayal of a person struggling to be true to herself. This film is based on a true story.

In Response to DYAKKI's Comments...
Its funny how you make assumptions about what makes someone happy; when you have absolutely no idea. Do you really think the person depicted in this film has no idea about the cultural constructions of masculinity and femininity? Do you honestly think your argument for the removal of traditional gender schemas and the removal of the gender binary hasn't been made by countless theorists and scholars?

To be honest, the person depicted in the film is incredibly intelligent and understands--like most educated people--the facets of how gender is constructed and how it constructs our lives in western culture. I think somebody who understands something to that degree, and still chooses to participate in it, is an extremely mature and well rounded person.

Your observations are perverse and dangerous: considering you back them up with "I argue"... let me just tell you: many people have argued that before you--its called "seen it...heard it"—PLEASE do some actual research on gender or transsexuality and get an original idea of your own, and then maybe somebody will listen to you.
