Meet Night Safari's very own "Singapore Son", Nila Utama. The park's first Asian elephant to be born in nine years, he is now 9 months old, weighing in at a hefty 439 kg.
The nine month old calf has already developed a character of its own. Bold and inquisitive, it loves exploring every nook and cranny of its home at the Night Safari. Nila Utama has also developed a liking to playing and splashing around in the water pool at the park but what he enjoys most, is a good scrub by his keepers. Be sure to try and spot the little one standing close to his mother, Sri Nandong, at the Night Safari's Asian elephants exhibit.

Nila is very sweet and cute of course. However, zoo wasnt too attentive enough letting Nila birth hitting on a hard ground. Should have laid grass patch around them for safety birth.
