Patrick Byrne was trying to say the education system in America was failing minorities and with out an education you had no chance in life. But his choice of words in making the point just goes to show how even with higher education you can make a stupid statment. Patrick -I'm a old white guy with three business degrees who can't find a job but I'll bet 50cent has no GED and has a great job!

He did not say we "should" do anything. You need to LISTEN. He said might as well. As in: Without an education those kids' futures are in serious trouble. Does anyone listen anymore? All these NAACP nuts are too much. Patrick NEVER said "should" he was talking about what happens if you don't have an education. The people who want Patrick to apologize are the same ones who's kids NEED TO GET THE EDUCATION HE WANTS THEM TO HAVE. Five stars to you for your brave video.

Real education,..... please, how many public school graduates really do something with them selves. Amused isn't the issue, what is the issue is that public schools are fucking broken. People don't get a quality education, thay get pushed out as fast as possible with the least amount of effort. I make the same amount of money as I would if I had graduated, so where is this elusive education that I missed out on?

i could care less about the other things you've said. whats bullshit is that just because you werent amused you chose not to further your education. its not the school's job to keep your attention, you're the definition of stupid by choosing not to get a real education and blaming it on them.
its the human 'species' you fucking spastic.
BTW, since when did the term mexcrement/hispanic (or whatever you are) become interchangable with white?

Race as referred to in my reply falls under the following definition: "A class or kind of people unified by shared interests, habits, or characteristics". So it was indeed a correct usage of the word. Species would also have functioned, but it was my intent to state that we are all of the same group in this instance.
Spastic? The only one I see having a spasm is you. My video reply was anything but spastic.

Part 2..."Mexcriment/hispanic" eh? The use of that term really defines the type of person you are now doesn't it. This thread was not about race or color, it was the overall need to have an education. You on the other hand will see it differently because you are just that type of person.
Oh, and before you correct someone's English, how about you open a dictionary first? By the way, I am white.

Use critical thinking to realize that this is just such an example, figure out who stands to gain, and what motivation someone would have to pull just this part of the interview, and if this excerpt really reflects the intent of the speaker or is just a tool for someone with an agenda.

Here is the reason that I even felt the need to respond to the video in the first place. If you take a piece of a conversation or a book you can make an argument for or against anything depending on what you select. The same goes for the Bible, in that you can make a case for or against every one of the ten commandments.

So At any rate kdo11. I didn't graduate highschool, and I make more money than most of the kids that did graduate in my class. The point is the quality of education that people are recieving, not just the diploma dip ass. Do you really believe that todays highschools are really doing a good job? If so then you are truly blind to this issue. Also since you seem to have a reading problem(that is to take a look at the whole picture)take a look at my other comments, especially the one right below.

An answer for that is private schooling where they are not geard for the median student, but able to catch the whole range. Having school age children (7 & 11) this is an issue close to my heart. Private school may be the course I choose for when my children hit High School for some very obvious reasons.
