Bell LG Optimus 4G LTE Review & Walkthrough

My review of the recently released LG Optimus 4G LTE Android smartphone running Android v2.3.5.

It is the first phone in Canada with a 720p (1,280x720) screen utilizing LG's IPS LCD technology. LG is the manufacturer for Apple's Retina display and they've expanded their a 3.5" 960x640 (326ppi) screen to this 4.5" 1,280x720 screen while maintaining the eye-popping 326 pixels per inch density.

In this video, I walk through the user interface, home screens, widgets, and customizable app drawer.

The Optimus is also the first smartphone I've used with flawless 1080p MKV support (high profiles!). It can also stream media wirelessly using DLNA to compatible receivers (computers, Blu-ray players, etc.). However, it can only stream 1080p MP4s (the format of the camcorder) and 720p MKVs (1080p MKVs lagged).

The microUSB port is also powered by an MHL chipset (http://www.sync-blog.com/sync/2011/09/your-smartphone%E2%80%99s-next-connector.­html) which allows it to output via an inexpensive adapter to do HDMI mirroring at 720p (including 1080p MKV playback down-converted).

which one is better,this one or samsung galaxy s2?

@jin7210 Subjective. This phone has a higher resolution screen, native MKV playback and LTE. There are more custom ROMs on the SII though and Super AMOLED+ has better colours and contrast.

@emaxxhyder46 As in? Texting is texting. What's the issue? The keyboard? There are dozens of Android keyboards and SMS apps like Handcent.

@tomdog22 WiFi and USB tethering has been natively built into Android since v2.2 and available as a (root) application since v2.1.

Aren't over 90% of phones volume rocker on the left hand side? iPhone, Samsungs, LG, HTC, Blackberry....?

@jin7210 I had both phones in my hand at the same time the other day and the Optimus looked a lot better. The screen is so much sharper. The S2 does have brighter colours but it looks blurred in comparison. Most people I know prefer the Optimus.

I have few question like what is the battery backup, accessories support and please show the game play on this phone.
