The Grace Notes enjoyed doing this gospel style song by Minnesota-based minister-musician Ray Makeever of Bread for the Journey from "Dancing at the Harvest," a really good CD produced by Augsburg Fortress.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (July 31), we sang a hymn written and composed by Ray Makeever. It is We Come to the Hungry Feast, set to the tune, HUNGRY FEAST. It is #479 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Maybe someone can post it sometime in the future.
@mkl62 Our old band (that's what this upload was) used to do "Hungry Feast" quite a bit. I need to check if I ever taped it. The other Ray Makeever song I've posted is "There Was the Word," which like these other pieces were all on his recording "Dancing at the Harvest," which is available through Augsburg Fortress Publishing. "There Was the Word" is a great song, pretty much sums up the whole Biblical story. Blessings from California.
It's archived, Jim, from 2008. Francie's retired and Elly's doing a lot of other things now, altho' I wish we could sing together again. Dave and Donna and I are still playing together. I get a kick out of editing old tapes and posting them from time to time. Came across this one and realized it was better than I remembered!!
