@Taspearl The comic has dr Manhattan's weinus out most of it too, along with the 80's theme including a lot of the songs in the movie. They did a great job with the movie, I have the directors cut which is over 3 hrs long. I want to see the extended cut which inter weaves "the Black Freighter" concept into the actual movie.

@Taspearl Yeah, Ozymandias has a team of artists and scientists developing it on a tropical island along with Dr. Manhattans energy thing. He used the Dr. Manhattan Tachyons to tele-port it and explode it in the city. Seeing this the world thinks they are at risk by inter-dimensional beings, and thus abandon the paranoia, and hatred for each other to focus on this non-existent enemy. If you like the movie, the comic is amazing, you get a lot more out of the story.... I am such a nerd
