Women's World Chess Championship 2011 game 2 - (Part 1) Queen E8
The Women's World Chess Championship 2011 is the 34th women's world championship in history. It is organized by FIDE and is played in a match format between the champion and the FIDE Grand Prix winner as challenger.
Reigning champion is Hou Yifan who gained the title in the Women's World Chess Championship 2010. Her challenger is Koneru Humpy the runner-up to Hou Yifan in the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2009--2011

Hou Yifan (Chinese: 侯逸凡; (born February 27, 1994, in Xinghua, Taizhou, Jiangsu, China) is a Chinese chess prodigy. She is the reigning Women's World Chess Champion, the youngest ever to win the title, as well as the youngest female player ever to qualify for the title of Grandmaster.

At the age of 12, Hou became the youngest player ever to participate in the FIDE Women's World Championship (Yekaterinburg 2006) and the Chess Olympiad (Torino 2006).[4] In June 2007, she became China's youngest National Women's Champion ever. She achieved the titles of Woman FIDE Master in January 2004, Woman Grandmaster in January 2007, and International Master in September 2008 by reaching the final of the Women's World Championship. In 2010, she became the youngest World Chess Champion in history (men's or women's) by winning the Women's World Championship in Hatay, Turkey, at the age of 16.

Humpy Koneru (Telugu: కోనేరు హంపీ; born 31 March 1987 in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh) is an Indian chess Grandmaster. Her January 2010 FIDE Elo rating is 2614, placing her number two in the world for women (behind Judit Polgár). In 2007 she surpassed the rating of 2577 set by Susan Polgar to become the second-highest ranked female player in history. She became the second female player ever, after Judit Polgár, to exceed the 2600 Elo mark.

From 2002 through 2008, Humpy held the record as the youngest woman ever to become a grandmaster (not merely a Woman Grandmaster), which she achieved at the age of 15 years, 1 month, 27 days, beating Judit Polgár's previous mark by three months;however, this has since been surpassed by Hou Yifan.

  • Hou Yi-Fan should play Men only. She is too good for these women players and beating them up bad. FIDE should not allow this.

  • Great effort, I certainly look forward to the rest.

  • this chinese is looking like a man :P

  • What is the song in this video?

  • @btkw but She lost badly though.

  • @babykevinxoxo I have heard that some GMs already have the image of the chess board in their mind when they play chess (this is how they play blindfold chess) and only look at the board when moves are being made, i think Humpy is also like that.

  • Hou is more prepared for these matches because Humpy is Day Dreaming too much. She needs to look at the board and not into space.

  • with 600 million males you would think China could find a Men's World Champion. HA HA . If she ever gets the highest rating are they going to crown her the new World Champion?

  • with 600 million males you would think China could find a Men's World Champion. HA HA

  • @wild1928 women are jealous I do feel bad for Humpy though she has to feel bad inside.

  • why is koneru looking to yifan's face all the time is this a tactic or sumtin?
