Dear Jurek,
Listening to these Leo Monosson recordings from so long ago is most enjoyable for me, but all his song also cause me to experience a sense of melancholy. Leo was a cousin who probably died at the hands of the Nazis before I was born in New York in 1937. Most of the Monossons came from Russia, so I know nothing about Leo except for his songs. Can you tell me more?

@imonosson
Thank you.
Fortunately he succeded to escape "on time" and was recording in France 1934-35; then went to America
to change his profession (post stamps business). Died suddenly on heart attack in 1934 in Miami.
You may see where he lived in Berlin in my video: "April in Berlin 2010: (3/6) Where Leo Monosson once lived".
Tomorrow another LM upload.

As always, Jurek, great music from a great source. I agree with many others who have commented about this wonderful tango rendition.

Actually it is a German recording (probably Clangor !) edited on the Polish Syrena; original matrix numbers had been erased.
