How can you ever put into words how perfect this band is? Syd, Roger or David should never be a debate for a fan of this band. They each played their parts in evolving Pink Floyd to what it is. Perfect. And in my most humble opinion Coming Back to Life is the pinnacle of Pink Floyds perfection. This song makes the hairs on my body stand up no matter how many times I listen to it almost 15 years later. I fell in love with this song the day I bought Division Bell. Then, after thinking the song could never be performed as well as its original recording David Gilmour proved me wrong in 1994 at Giant Stadium. Pink Floyd not only performed it perfect but did it better. The timing, vocals, chorus and visual effects were flawless. It was a nearest thing to a religious experience ive ever had. Seven years later David Gilmour performed this song again at his Meltdown concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London and once again took this song to a new level.
At just 32 years old I'm already asking myself what are the odds of me hearing another group of musicians that have brought me such enjoyment as much as Pink Floyd has?

They play the chords of my life, and keep the beat to my heart.
They pluck the strings of my soul and simply sing me to peace with their lyrics.

I hope you guys enjoy this rendition of Coming Back to Life as much as I.

  • Dear @ghirsch76,

I've just read what you've written in the video's description.

Couldn't agree more... Amen to that.

    Peace! :)

  • Great!

  • The entire MELTDOWN concert has to be one of my all time favorite Gilmour concerts, ever! What a line-up, what a great performance!

  • @myownego

No it isn't. You not have to play the e-guitar to get this "overdrive" sound. Your're right, there's really noone who is playing the e guitar. But this sound is made with an effect ;) You put it between your Guitar and your amp (he's using an acoustic amp) , put the effect on and you got it. I know this because I'm playing the guitar too for a long time ;)

  • @Alejiisimo2 I have to admit that I do not know much about the guitar or playing the guitar. Thats why I was confused about the electric sounds. I apologize if I was wrong. I never ment to insult Gilmour though. I myself am a fan and I love his music

  • @myownego you just doesnt know what a pedal is about, and less guitar knowledge... electroacoustic guitar with pedal sounds like hell... gilmour is god of guitar no doubt of it.

i want him to come argentina...

  • @myownego It doesn't depend on the kind of guitar you're playing, just on the effects and amps you're using...

  • @wrhacker88

I do think that the solo is playback. No offense but there is just noone playing the e-guitar

  • In my top 5 songs of all time. Perfect !

  • @sigma6PinFloyd no it isnt......do you really could imagine thar Sir Gilmour would use playback? He's just using the same Overdrive/Distortion effest as with his strat !
