NASHVILLE,TN (May 1,2007) Heather Davis, one of Music City's brightest young talents, has just released a music video stirring emotions nationwide. "Brother's Song", was co-written by Heather and Robert Ellis Orrall more than two years ago, and crowd reaction to the song has been strong.

But "Brother's Song" is more than just a ballad that inspires memories of a lost loved one. It's the story of a soldier who dies overseas at war, as told through the eyes of his little sister. The music video was produced as a tribute to all soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for his or her country, and several soldiers are honored in the music video.

Pictures of fallen service men and women from around the country are featured in the video. One such officer is Corporal Patrick Nixon, the first soldier from Tennessee to die in the line of duty in Iraq. Officer Nixon's father says they have embraced the song as an anthem for soldiers such as his son.

"When we first saw it, hearing Heather sing and then Pat's picture came up....it took my breath away," said David Nixon, Patrick's father. "I think the song really shows what families feel, both in terms of loss and pride, and we're honored that Pat is in the video." Patrick was a fourth generation soldier in the Nixon family. His great grandfather served in World War I, his grandfather served in World War II, his father David served in Vietnam, and Patrick along with his two brothers all served in the military as well.

"Whenever I do a show I include "Brother's Song" in my set, and someone in the audience always seems to connect with the song," says Heather. "It's a great feeling to know my music is having such a positive impact on people."

Heather and Robert penned "Brother's Song" one afternoon during a writing session in 2005. "When we sat down that day, we had no intention of writing about personal loss, the war, anything in particular, the words just sort of fell into place."

Heather has been in the public eye performing and acting for more that ten years. Some of her credits include winning top honors at the "Sing To Win" talent competition at the "World Famous" Wildhorse Saloon in 2001. A few years later, Heather received a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry during a guest appearance on the show.

Robert, Heather's co-writer on "Brother's Song," has enjoyed success as both an artist and songwriter. He scored a Top 20 hit in 1992 with "Boom! It Was Over," and he performed with Carlene Carter before moving to Nashville in the 80's.

Some of his writing credits include country hits for Shenandoah ("Next To You, Next To Me") and Mason Dixon ("When Karen Comes Around").

In addition to Robert, Heather has written with many blue chip songwriters along Music Row such as Richard Marx, Liz Hengberg and Phillip White. She has also performed at Nashville's famed Bluebird Cafe', and has appeared on the same bill With such great country artists as Ronnie Milsap, Trick Pony and Beth Neilsen Chapman. ( less )
