This is a simple installation of Ruby on Rails for Windows. I cover how to install Ruby, Rails, MySQL and the MySQL gem. I also give a brief look at two IDE's for Rails development on Windows, RubyMine and AptanaStudio.

  • rails 3.2.1 RailsInstaller is a folder but NO RUBYONRAILS exists! Tried to put in RailsInstaller since it had the same dir and big fubar error! not fun:((

    but i faced only one problem with gem jquery-rails i just run "bundle install" again and it worked...

  • Hey, Steve, What do I do if I get to the end here and it tells me that "gem: command not found" when I try to build with mysql2.gemspec? Everything up to this point is working perfectly.

    the only missing notice is that mysql gives error if .NET 4.0 has not installed previously.
