I made a quick case opening tool using a dvd plastic case. DVD case was fairly plyable to use.

Step1: Cut the dvd case in half, then grab your xbox 360.

Step2: Turn your console over so you can see the TABS. Grab your DVD Case you cut. Line it up with TABS and use a pen, marker to make your marks

Step3: After you have made your marks, Grab a ruler and draw 1cm lines up. And draw your horizontal up on top of your 1cm lines you drew.

Step4: Cut the ends with scissors & then cut the inner lines with the scissors. Then use a screw driver and lighter method to cut out the horizontal lines

  • can i open the little holes on the side of the xbox with this tool ?

  • @rideordie2244 -YES

  • damn i went out and bought me my shit and wtf you made your own im mad lol u got skills tho people hating cuhzz u did it 1st

  • @smurfMC86 - TY , there's no reason to spend cash on a tool you can make yourself. Althought I was NOT the first person to make this tool. It worked for me so well, I figure i would pass it on

  • Its better if u take a razor or knife and cut a line on one of the sides for the long sides and then just bend and it will snap off.

Another great tool is to use a old creditcard and make from it the tool =)

  • @Puppeplupp - I agree a old credit/gift card would have worked better

  • Why would you BOTHER MAKING THIS TOOL ITS ON AMAZON FOR 88 Cents a tool and 2 dollar shipping

FUCKING ALL U ARE CHEAPSKATES LMFAO!!!

  • This is a very nice alternative for us who don't like to be spending a couple bucks plus waiting time on a "official" tool. I ended up using just one of those plastic tooth (of the cd cover) to open the back.

Good thing about that plastic is that as linkfanatic13579 said..it won't mess up the xboxs' plastic holes.

    Thanks KrayonKing!

  • yes there is since the screws in the machine dont need to be super tight all you need is a little grip so get some needle nose pliers but i used sharped tipped wire clippers. good luck @thecrikster

  • i took my hole xbox apart with 3 penny's pliers and a philips screw driver lol sorry for every one that buys tools lol i didnt need to

  • Is there any alternative way to unscrewing the base plate once you have the case open? I don't the star shaped screwdriver.

  • @linkfanatic13579

except you have to remove a sticker at some point so it is kind of obvious. I used the file part of a pair of nail clippers and edged a matchstick in the gap to keep the case from closing as I worked along.

  • press f13

thumbs up if you looked ☺

  • you know after you undo the slots under the faceplate on the front of your xbox, you can simply rip the whole cover off with no damage at all. if you pull the case up hard enough, the 7 slots in the back will simply come undone due to the pressure. it will make a pretty painful noise when you do this but it works for me everytime with no damage done at all.

  • opening tool costs nothing

  • just wonder probably sound stupid but what is it for for it to not over heat
