Spool knitting, French knitting, corking... whatever you call it, it's a simple technique for making what is essentially i-cord. This is a great way to introduce a child to the world of knitting.

The music used in the video is "The Poet" by Cheryl Ann Fulton, courtesy of Magnatune.

  • @Aynos11rules I bought mine in a local yarn store, but I've also seen them in the dollar stores around here. The one I used is just a basic plastic one. I've also seen them in wood, shaped like little dolls. They're sometimes called a Knitting Nancy as well. They usually come with what looks like a needle, with no hole. That's what you use to make your stitches.

  • @peridot1454 Where can you buy a corker? And what tool did you use?

I read a book about this, and thanks for makeing it more easier to understand!!!! :D

  • I got a sewing box from my late mother and found a spooling project she was working on ages ago. I had no idea how to use a spool. Thanks for the detailed video on how to use one. I will be able to finish her project and start one from scratch for myself!
