  • So...why does he have to spin it over his neck? What good does that to?

  • @Berengier817 The spin is meant to demonstrate mastery of the weapon. Here are the three steps of practising a weapon:

    1. Do the basic form

    2. Make it nice and effective (precision and strength)

    3. Add juggling to demonstrate total ease and harmony with the object

This particular form is not excellent, but meant to demonstrate a little bit more advanced movements.

  • I saw the cut at 1:02.

Did he drop the staff or something?

  • Yes, he did.

  • Good pole juggling - so far removed from the concepts of wing chun - totally wu shu

  • Are folks so rude 'cause it's the web & anonymous? Cut the kid some slack. Just watching the form & how it's done, it appears he's a young man maybe 6 to 12 months or so into training. For that time, he's doing pretty damn well. I've spent 31 yrs in another fighting style than wing chun. Do I see errors in execution, e.g., not using body rather than just stick. Yup. So what? It's a young man doing his best on the day & posted here to share that. I appreciate his effort.

  • that isn't wing chun.......

  • @Berengier817 - To make you think he's cool

  • @kungfumartialartist Got it. Thanks.

  • @lex108 look up the meaning of wu shu its not a type of martial arts its the same meaning as kung fu just in mandarin.

  • nobody dropped anything....watch it again

  • lol dropped it twice huh...

  • nice... not bad at all... how long have you been training staff?
