Yeah, and the "Dems don't support the troops" thing especially doesn't work on Franken, because not only was he doing USO tours before he ever got into politics, he was doing them during KOSOVO, back when the GOP were praying that it would become a 'balkin blunder', much to their dismay, not a single troop died in That war

Interesting ad. There is nothing negative about Coleman here. That may be wise because Minnesotans are EXTREMELY queasy about negative confrontation.

OTOH, it is doubtful that Franken was vulnerable on this issue. The 2006 elections clearly demonstrated that accusing Democrats of lacking patriotism was a losing tactic.

I completely agree. It's a terrific ad. Coleman simply cannot negate this ad. He has nothing to answer with. What's he going to say? "Al Franken doesn't support the troops!" Uh, yeah, apparently he does, Norm. And how many helmets and flack jackets did you personally manage to assure were getting over to Iraq?

Great, great ad! Hitting Coleman right in the solar plexus! Norm didn't do jack squat for the troops. Right here, Al personally took matters into his own hands and GOT IT DONE! That's leadership. That's patriotism. That's the next senator from the great state of Minnesota. I'm not Al Franken, but I approve this message!
