  • i have to laugh at the loyalists on all the videos of attack when the loyalists try to put the blame on the nationlists fir starting it. The first bottle was a bottle of fanta thrown by a loyalist protester (rioter). dint know how or why i remember that but there you go lol, Yes there was taunting and foul language exchanged from both sides. but in the first parade the loyalists were taunting, shouting unrespectful thimgs and just provoking the bands

  • loyalist cowwards,,just feet away but are 2 affraid 2 do anything//..typical orange vermin...........utra,,,,they hav,vt gone away ya know...some jst left and sided with sf/psni..

  • @Independent7762 And elements of the Republican armed campaign have alot to answer for. The way it was conducted will have done nothing to convince anyone that it was the way forward. I honestly believe that war crimes were committed, on both sides. Civilian targets were attacked for one thing. Inexcusable.

But the day that Republicanism ceases to be for all people on this island, or ceases to have any chance of that, is the day I am no longer a Republican.

  • @Independent7762 As a Republican, I will never stop striving for the Republic as promised in Easter 1916, which promised to cherish all the children of the nation equally, the Republic of Wolfe Tone, a Presbyterian, who wanted Protestant, Catholic and Dissenter to unite to break the connection with England.

The Free State was a Catholic theocracy, and to an extent still is, what with the treatment of protestant schools in the 26 counties. This cannot be denied.

  • @Independent7762 I will not argue the right of anyone to protest anything. And yes taunts were shared. The difference I will argue, and you can debate back, is that Republicanism is a secular cause, for all people in Ireland, north, south, east and west, especially the working class, where as Orange Order/Loyalist flute bands seem to have a definite anti-Catholic, agenda, which people will view as antagonistic and offensive.

  • yet again loyalist prove to the world that they are nothing but Thugs. well done to the people of carrickhill
