I dont watch baseball, plain and simple. But this man is my favorite athlete in the whole world. The words he chooses, and the way he coveys them are absolutly perfect. Every modern athlete needs to look at this and remember that they have this man to prove to that they are half as worthy as him to stand on a field. Thank you.

It doesn't exist. People have searched all kinds of archived films and a complete copy of the speech doesn't exist. Another line of it does, though- he says something along the lines of "When you look around, wouldn't you consider it a privilege to associate yourself with these fine-looking men for just one afternoon?"

You cant find it on Youtube because it doesnt exist. Period. There is no recorded footage of the entire speech in existence.

My dad died of Lou Gehrig's. His attitude was much like the real Lou Gehrig.

I read a story about Gehrig that may or may not be true. He was talking to someone and he said that he and nine others had been taking a drug, and it helped nine of them.

The person asked, "Did it help you, Lou?"

Lou's answer: "Well, no . . . but it helped the other nine!"
