So, Lucas was drinking in the middle of the afternoon while "spending quality time" with his still very young son...nice. Father of the year, ladies and gentlemen.

Lucas loves his son way to much to harm him he loves him so much he would anything for his son it was an accident he just slipped out of lucas's hands that's all

I'm NOT sure how or why they REALLY broke up, but I know it had something to do with EJ, and him "black mailing" Sami into marrying him, saying if she DIDN'T marry him, he'll put a "hit" on her family (which is why Sami didn't want to tell EJ about her being pregnant with Sydney), she was afraid for her child, she didn't want her child to turn out to be a Dimera), and have Dimera "ways" There is MUCH more to this,but I have to do some research to get more answers.

Lucas was NOT a mamma's boy, he FINALLY caught on to Kate's "way's" and FINALLY began to see her for WHO she REALLY is, a COLD - HEARTED B*TCH, and stopped being so "close" to her....
He even changed his LAST name to Horton, (Instead of Roberts), that's how much he DESPISED/DESPISES her.....

YES, back then Lucas DID have a drinking problem, but (before they FIRED him) he really got his act together, but unfortunatelly "Days" let him go.......

Sami refused to acknowledge that Lucas was the father of her son, even after the reveal. She refused Lucas anytime with Will and told Will over and over that Austin was going to be his dad, not Lucas. Sami was obsessed with Austin and being a responsible or fair person. Lucas was being pushed out. His mother henpecked him. He was drowning in sorrow. And he started to drink. Yes Lucas made a huge mistake with drinking, but to me it was always a very human flaw.
