http://www.thisweekinphoto.com Frederick Van Johnson makes a special trip to Half Moon Bay, CA to grab some out-of-focus shots specifically for testing in the new Topaz Adjust InFocus software.
7,071 people have watched this video before I did, and I'm wondering how many of them didn't catch what you did --> In the last half of your video, you ran the processor on image DSC0566, then you compared the results of a different image than what you just processed, DSC0569 (the image comparison from the first half of the video). This was the image you said "In all fairness, you wouldn't have an image this far out of focus that you wanted to rescue".
I think you have to select the estimate option in the drop down menu and you have to make sure that you have a part of the image selected that has a lot of sharp edges.. I saw a guy do it.. it works trust me!
Hi Frederic. Nice review, but I think you really did something wrong. In the second image you tested, when you pressed RESET ALL, the program reset not only the sliders , but the Blur Type to GENERIC as well. Now Generic is good to enhance detail in already well shot pictures , but not out-of-focus ones. So, in all fairness, I think you should repeat the test with the "Out of Focus" Blur type activated.
Trying Infocus with Paint Shop Pro 8 which it id suppose to work in but so far can't get it to load without it crashing. Emailed their tech support and they gave me a few suggestions but so far there is no joy here. I also tried Irfanview which this plugin is suppose to work with but it too crashes. If you guys have any ideas that the engineers don't have...I would be glad to hear then from yu'll.
Hi Frederick, thanks for putting together the review. I just got inFocus and had a quick look at the user's guide. Like you discovered, inFocus is not the magic we were hoping for but it can salvage some shots. Have a look at the user's guide before your next review - I think the workflow you use may change a bit. Thanks again!

thanks for the review. this software, like a lot of other topaz products, seems like a waste of money.
