Louis Myers was one of the most highly regarded blues guitarists in Chicago. He's best remembered as the guitarist with The Aces, Little Walter's original backing band. Over the years he played with just about every important figure in Chicago blues from the late 1940s until his death in the early 1990s.
Here he plays a warm up instrumental at a gig where he was backing blues singer Willie Buck at Roberts 500 Club on Chicago's south side. The band includes Louis' brother and long-time band mate Dave Myers on bass, harp player Little Mac Simmons, John "Big Moose" Walker on electric piano, and drummer Jody North.
(sorry for the clumsy camera work - I didn't shoot it!)
I had that blonde 335 of Louis's for a while right about this point in time. I replaced two missing inlays on the neck and gave it a major tune-up. Some asshole stole it from him a few years later.

Pure genius. Louis could go from Robert Johnson to BB to Lockwood back to Tampa Red to Charlie Christian seamlessly, in one solo. We used to to call this variation on Cleo'sMood "Cleo Just Spit". I think Lee Jackson named it.
