Creating the drop stitch on a knitting loom. Note: I only demonstrate how to do the drop stitch pattern, not the cast on nor the bind off. You need to know how to cast on and bind off to complete your item. The video only demonstrates the stitch pattern.

Complete pattern can be found at this link: http://isela.typepad.com/loomknitting/dropstitchscarf.html

  • You need to do a regular cast on. The video only demonstrates the stitch pattern, not the entire project, just a stitch pattern.

  • This doesnt work for me Not sure what Ive done wrong but I tried it 4 times will not bother again LOL

  • Normal purl cast on...

  • how the hell do you cast on from the beginning????....lolol. would have been nice to have seen it....mine unraveled....lol

  • @MajesticSumter

the same thing happened to me...would have been nice to know how to do this...from the beginning with an empty loom ! ! !...lol. still haven't found the "pattern of the month" she mentions...lol

  • mine unraveled once i pulled the three strands over is that suppose to happen.

  • I made a scarf thanks to your video! It's very simple! Thank you a lot! :)

  • @dolphin122074 it looks like what she did was a normal knit pattern for a few rows and then starting on the drop stitch. As long as you know how to cast on for a normal knit you should be able to pull it off. Just make a few rows like you normally would and then start this stitch, otherwise I think it just wouldn't have the stability it needs to hold together. MAke sense?

  • you should show us how to start it i try over and over and it didn't come out right

  • do you ever loom knit with hapspun yarns?
