The high performance Modern Marvel bowling ball is coming out in early February 2012. Watch the bowlingball.com video review of the Modern Marvel here.

The R2X hybrid reactive coverstock handles heavy oil like a champ while the fast-revving Centripetal core works with nearly every layout imaginable. Prepped with a 4000-grit Abralon finish, the Modern Marvel provides optimum traction throughout the entire lane.

One of the most popular balls of the 2011 World Series of Bowling, the Marvel Pearl was preferred by Ryan Shafer, Dom Barrett, and many more looking to open up the backends. The new Modern Marvel will provide more midlane traction as it features a textured R2X hybrid reactive cover.

  • I just got this ball Friday in Edmonton Alberta for a tournament and threw 9 games with it on Saturday and this ball was awesome on dry and the oily lanes i faced i would defiantly recommend this ball to anyone high or low rev rate lots of speed or not much this ball will match and perform the way you want it to. This ball also gives lots of pin carry i only left 3 10 pins in 9 games also this ball smells very good to!

  • @BertS2X THS in the area where we shoot the videos range anywhere between 37-41 feet. This shot plays the best for the lane surface we are on. This set up is on 2 sets of heads so the oil carries down quickly if we use longer shots or more volume.

  • @BertS2X well mike jones puts so much revs in it im guessing he lofts it down the lane so the ball will hook later. instead of rolling it which will hook earlier.

  • Maybe it's been asked before, why 38 feet? I dont know about volume but the THS in my area is 40-42 feet. These guys here always seem to have to loft the ball 10-15 feet down the lane. Whats up with that?

  • right out of the box, THS I threw 245, 269, 278...the smell of the ball and the results of that series tells it all :)

  • Cousin just bought this ball, Hooks as hard as my Nexus f(p+f). And he even added polish. Amazing ball.

  • I currently have a prodigy, and im like between a cranker and tweener but mostly tweener, i like standing in the middle. Would this be better or should i keep the prodigy? Oh and im a lefty, if you take that into consideration.

  • Isnt this the same core that Storm released 3 years ago ?

  • @behop32 For dry lane conditions? Haha your funny. Maybe as a strike ball. As long as it's not Brunswick, it's fine by me.

  • @RsGuide707 The Rising Star and Ebonite Cyclone are pretty good. I throw a Cyclone after my Critical Theory drys the lane out and it hooks just as much since it's made for that kind of condition. The Tropical Heat series and Natural series is also pretty good. I am replacing my Cyclone with a Crossroad and MAYBE a Frantic in the next week or 2 so I will get back to you and let you know how those work. Then again every bowler is different.
