I've just got a Sony Ericsson X10 mini and updated to the new Sony's Android 2.1. This is part 1 of the review, which includes:

To update the phone, simply use PC Companion. There is a better way which is to download Update Service and then follow the instruction

first,resolution is 240x320 no 240x480

second, ram is 256mb not 128mb,maybe ROM but not ram...

@lukas918273642 Thank you for your comment. Actually someone has pointed my mistake about the screen size before and I remember that I have edited the annotation but for some reason it hasn't been changed. (Probably I forgot to click the Publish button :) )

About RAM, pretty much both of us are wrong. Actually it is 176MB, at least for my own device. Doing a Google search for "x10 mini RAM" brings many answers (128MB is the most common, don't ask me why).I really believed it was 128MB before.

hey hope you can answer my question, here it is i had a mini x10 with 1.6 android, i downloaded the 2.1 but when i turn on my phone, it says i still have the 1.6, thanks.

@Mrbgatooo I don't think so, because both e10i and e10a are x10 mini, and the only slight difference is their network support which is nothing related to the update.

Just try downloading Update_Service_Setup-2.10.12.1­­5.exe, I think it will be fine. I have found a dozen of links on Google Search, although I noticed that if you copy the text above to find it will show no result (weird!).

If you have trouble finding the file, you can use the link I just provided on the description box

@Mrbgatooo There are two ways of updating to 2.1. Which one has you used? I always suggest people use the Update Service as many people have had problem with Sony Ericsson's PC Companion.

P/S: I've just looked at their site and seems to be the file was gone. Its file name is Update_Service_Setup-2.10.12.1­5.exe, I think you can find several ones one the internet.
