Kiddieland 091209 MTC Diesel

Taken on Sept. 12th 2009, there's a large crowd on hand for one of the last weekends of operation at Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL The train in an MTC diesel and you can hear the "A" & "B" units are both running to handle the crowd.

As I understand it when the original owner died, one set of siblings go the land the park was on and the other got the park itself. Over the years the undeveloped land around was sold off and developed until all that was left was the park. When it was time to renew their property leave the park owners found the land was too valuable, so it the park was closed and the rides were sold off. The train was purchased locally, but what the ultimate plans for it are, I do not know.

just wondering why it actually closed, i'm from the UK you see and i'm quite interested in miniature trains like this, any chance of some information on what happened to the A,B and C units and why it closed? it would be most appreciated :)
