  • Hi Keekei,

My husband thinks he knows your father but don't remember his first name. He looked Midway cruise book but couldn't find him, did he work at A-Div?

    Bill & Yuko Mattingly

  • @yukomattingly I'm not sure what division he was in but he was a RM. First name George.

  • I visited there back in 2006 with my daughter. From 1986--1991 we used to live in VERY old duplex with so many roaches by heli port. lol And then moved to newer townhouse, Jones 62. I can't believe I still remember the address. The old dulex was gone and Yokosuka Base looked so different. My husband went to sea so many times including first Gulf war. I was a young busy mom then. I used to enjoy shopping and dining around Chuo station and Daiei.

  • @yukomattingly - your last name is so familiar. I was born and raised in Yokosuka. My dad was on the Midway, Frances Hammond, was also at Comsta and Comsubgroup 7. Parents last name is Nichols....

  • 3:06 Did anyone tell you about the curse of that tunnel? Apparently, if you go through there at midnight you won't come out. Haven't tried doing it before, and now I would can never know. Must be fake. :D

  • 1999-2004. Best years of my life.

  • the tender brought back memories of when I went there on the USS Mckee as-41. Her one and only westpac. The haunch, the line of japanese girls just outside of the main gate next to the A club waiting for someone to escort them in for a night at the club, the mall a couple blocks away, the stores and shops, and my hangout the game room on the haunch.

  • Dang, I should've joined the Navy and got myself stationed there! lol. Yokosuka looks a lot more crowded than the last time I was there. One thing's for sure, Kinnick looks a lot better when I was there. We had to graduate in the OLD building, haha. Oh, and we had to go to Thew gym for PE all the time. I remember I always had to 'power walk' back to my classes. Same 'ol Club A, commissary and navy exchange.. tee hee.

  • 1993-95.. The best years of my life.. I miss you Yokosuka..

  • Ahhh shiieeeeet I miss home. Lived there from 83-97. It looks so much different now. Gotta go there in the summer and hit up green hill if it's still there. YokoLoco
