[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE][Notes:surveillance video] The son of a hit and run victim hopes the public will help authorities find the driver of a car that fled the scene of the crime.Police released this surveillance video of the incident. It shows Angel Torres walking in the street after buying milk at a local grocery store. Seconds later, he's struck by a dark Honda that was chasing a tan Toyota. Both cars darted down a side street as Torres crumples onto the road.The minute-long video then shows several cars passing Torres as a few people stare from the sidewalk. Several people did call 911 within a minute of the accident while others approached the victim and most stayed put until an officer responding to an unrelated call arrives on the scene.Torres is in critical condition in Hartford Hospital. If you look carefully, you'll notice that he is crossing when his side of the road is clear. The cars that were racing had gone into the oncoming traffic lane to pass the SUV. Also, it's not a passing lane road to begin with, as it's solid double yellow lines.

He may not have used a designated crosswalk, but he wasn't wrong in this case. The two assholes who were racing or chasing each other, are completely to blame.
