@paradoxxx1980 dude you should check your infos. the normal golf was produced till 2004 but the wagon (VW called it VARIANT) was produced till 2006.... at least here in Germany :)

there was a 4wd GOLF4. It's called the R32. It had the 3.2 VR6 as opposed to the 2.8, But it was about $7,000 more than a GTI. There were a limited run of the 1.9 in 2001-2002 in the GOLF, more in the JETTA (BORA). The most popular engines were the 1.8T and the VR6 2.8. There was also a 2.0 for the "value" GOLF and JETTA. I think the Puebla plant sent cars to North and South America.

@jordub i know they have some in eastern europe too. but anyway i was just wonderin that they produce in mexico.(only for the us market maybe?) any btw there was no 4wd system in the golf 4 in us??interesting to know! which engines where avaliable in the us??

@Playa1sweet tell me what character is in the 11th spot of your VIN number..... 1.9 was not released in the U.S. neither was your HALDEX (Swedish) on the GOLF 4.. But there are dozens of factories VW owns/operates that are OUTSIDE of Germany, including Africa, South America and Asia.
