@GeorgeJonesFan100 No, Ricky Lee Phelps left the group to form Brother Phelps with his brother. Ricky Lee later left Brother Phelps to concentrate on family and on song writing.

So then is the lead singer from back in the late 80s the same guy who sings lead for the group today then?
-
Have to add, I wish the brothers hadn't left that band. That lead singer was better than later ones.

Ah yes, I recall when they broke into country. Great country rock group. Some stations wouldn't play them, said it was an insult to Bill Monroe. But they couldn't ignore this song for long, country fans LOVED it! They were the first "Motley Looking Hair Group" to appear on a country awards show.

I like it very much I just wish they would have taken up collection to buy the drummer a shirt. That is kinda freeky to me, just saying....
The IS a bluegrass song! It was recorded way back there by Bill Monroe & The Bluegrass Boys. Bill was from Kentucky so the Headhunters did it in their rocked up style as homage to their fellow Kentuckian, the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe.
