This is my analysis of current situation in Karachi.

It is my city. It is a beautiful city and it is not what you see these days. The people there are educated, cultured, peaceful and tolerate all humans.

However we worry that there is sometthing wrong. The greediness of some to control its wealth, the jeaolusy of some to put it down, the intolerance, the Taliban mindset, they anti peace mindset is gradually being influxed into the the city.

I have no idea about the agenda. No one is against people coming. Karachi welcomed everyone and it will continue to do that. However like Urdu speakers who were welcomed and who made it what it is today, others should also show same spirit and not tribalism.

  • .The violence against the Pakhtun community seems to be aimed at restricting its growing influence in the city affairs. The erstwhile controllers of the city are jittery because of the emergence of the Awami National Party (ANP) on the Karachi’s political surface in the last general elections."

  • @geoimmi

What violence? The majority that has been killed is not Pashtun. ANP is a terrorist party for sure and everyone knows that it has established buissiness in Dubai with land grabbing, killing, extortions that has been going in Karachi. They also support taliban in Karachi. its a mess.

Only solution is to give control of city to representatives of city..i dont want shahi syed and mirzo controlling the affairs of the city. i dont interfere with whats going on in larkana or lahore

  • Since mid-2008, when the MQM-Haqiqi workers tried to resume political activities, hundreds of those belonging to the MQM as well as the Haqiqi group have been shot dead. Both the Mohajir parties blame each other. In the meantime, bloody clashes between rival gangs in the PPP-stronghold in Lyari and the target shootings between the Pakhtuns and the Mohajirs have continued.

  • @geoimmi

I don't think it has anything to do with Haqiqi. If anything that party has weakened with many leaving and re-joining MQM. So what changed in 2008? let me guess government? The violence in last few years is because of ANP and thugs like Mirza. This mindset did not appreciate the good work that was done by MQM so as soon as they got free of Army rule, they showed their colors.

  • 80% pakistan is not rural. As per 1998 census about 30% people lived in urban areas which has possibly increased to over 40% in 2011.

  • @geoimmi

it is about the mindset. moving from rural areas to cities does not mean the mindset changes. they still vote in same manner and under similar influence

  • @geomush Dont forget that there was no ANP in karachi in the 1990s but still people used to get killed in karachi on the basis of political affliations or ethnicty.

  • @geomush Feudalism is also the mindset of the rich and powerfull and people with such mindset also exist in karachi

  • agree with you 110%!!!!!!!!!! keep it up bro!

  • If you were such a great Sindhi then Larkana and Sukkur would be on par with Karachi and I would be going there for work and education. You are not insulting me but your own Sindhi brethren. Your Lyari is still the worst area in Karachi and yet those innocent people give you votes. A day will come when they will kick this donkey Zulfi and he will become a bhooka and nanga. I am confident of that.
