    You can't 'ruin' a language. From the time American English and British English split, both dialects have evolved quite a lot, and that's perfectly normal. Saying a dialect 'ruins' a language is like saying English itself 'ruins' the Germanic languages it evolved from.

    Heres one to really fuck with your head - The way american people speak now is more like how indigenous english people spoke back in the day... Having said this I haven't checked my sources on this yet but remember them being vaguely reliable

    But it's modern form, as shown in this video, was invented by the Americans. They turned an existing, relatively minor, holiday into a massive consumer event spanning several weeks. Saying that it isn't American is almost like saying Christmas isn't christian; there were celebrations on the 25th of December for hundreds of years before it became a christian holiday, they just adapted it to suit their agenda. Modern Christmas was of course invented by coca-cola, but now i'm out of characters,
