ABILIFY SUX!
-
This video makes Abilify seem like aspirin. You should also mention that Abilify can cause akathesia a dangerous restlessness that can lead people into dangerous situations including suicide. For myself, it also gave me restless leg syndrome.

@SkaRocksYea ,, I must disagree. Cannabis contains a chemical known as CBD, CBD is a harmless natural anti psychotic. Cannabis related psychosis occurs when a person stops smoking, it is the equivalent of a person going off there anti psychotic medication after becoming dependent on it. Cannabis smokers should try to smoke strains containing equal parts THC/CBD of around 2.5% and avoid strains that are high THC and low CBD for that combination is the result of ignorant manipulation to the plant

@WhiteOwls241dolla People with the problems that abilify is prescribed for should never smoke weed, it could put them in full fledged psychosis. Are you retarded or just ignorant?

I've taken abilify for 8 years and I get akathesia. It's miserable and extremely difficult to control.

I take Abilify and YES it has side effects.... but i prefer death than going back. I prefer a few days of lucid genuine life that hell on earth.

I take abilify and it's worked great for me. I haven't had any side effects and I've been on it for over two years. Reading some of the stuff here though makes me nervous.

WestConnor wrote: "If it helped you, and you weren't having and issues with involuntary movement, why stop." Well, here's why to stop. It may not have caused involuntary movement ~yet~ but continued usage increases the possibility of that happening. Once the tardive dyskinesia begins, it's too late. It's a permanent condition. Forever. Is whatever benefits you experience temporarily worth risking permanent harm?

Can Abilify work to stop an episode just minutes after the episode begins? A family member has the impression it can. The family member is not taking Abilify daily. It's just being taken infrequently as needed. I think this sounds like a placebo effect. The dosage is 1/2 of a dissolving 10mg dose. I understand results can vary between individuals but is it even possible that Abilify could start working within say 15 minutes?
To WestConnon
I was prescribed Abilify 15mg for extreme anxiety and moderate depression, along with OCD. I took this medicine alongside Venlafaxine 150mg until recently, when I stopped Abilify due to watching YouTube Clips with people suffering from Tardive Dyskinesia and Akathisia. I have also read articles about anti-psychotics causing brain celld death and the shrinkage of brain matter. I really felt it helped but can't begin taking again because of what I've seen/read. What do you think?

Any medication can have side effects but you really have to weight the advantages vs the disadvantages. If 10 million people take it and 10 get bad side effects, what are your chances? If it helped you, and you weren't having and issues with involuntary movement, why stop. If you are worried, there are plenty of other, older, medications that have been around for decades that are cheap and effectice that can be used instead. Good luck.
