Ken Curtis was a bit like Jim Nabors, talking like a bumpkin and singing like a Harvard elocution professor. He was so great as Festus, though! He was one of the latter Sons of the Pioneers and John Ford's son-in-law.

Great voice, very obscure folksong. Do you have links to the rest of the HGWT episode this came from? I want to know why he was given the envelope or I won't be able to sleep

he was givin' half ownership of the saloon the will was in the envelope, after the song she fell in love with him and had to fight the mean guy bouncer. It is one of the be HGWT I have ever seen. Look up Sons of the Pioneers and see the difference with Ken Curtis the singer and Ken Curtis as Festus the actor. The more I learn of him the more I appreciate his talents...You can get a copy of the show on Netflix it is called " Love's Young Dream " get it.
