I recently began experimenting with timelapse photography.
This recording was taken with a two year old Canon A530 running the CHDK firmware mod for Canons.
The script was set to snap a picture on 8 second intervals. Total capture time was about 6 hours.
I then used QuickTime Pro to assemble the images. During the last third of the "film" I moved the tripod to the front porch to catch the sun going down as the sun couldn't be seen from the back porch.
You may be able to see the collision lights blinking on the radio tower in the last third of the "film" (lower right).
The non-youtube version (unpublished) shows the shadows from the clouds appearing in the sky.
Neat... I like it.

Thanks a bunch. Glad you enjoyed it. I can recall that I didn't use Quicktime Pro to add music... I'm sure that I used Audioswap (provided by Youtube) but as I look at the details of the video, I can't find the name of the song. I usually put the name of the song in the details... And, as you can see, Youtube isn't offering for people to buy the song by putting that little ad up... oh well. I don't know what song it was...

8 seconds is really too long for that kind of focal length and amount of light. During the night when things cool down and don't move as much 8 seconds might work with long exposures.

My kind of day! All of this bright sunshine and warm temps do not make me happy. I like it cold and dark.
