All these comments undermine the absolute power of a boxers punches. People think that boxers are pushovers because they are trained mainly to punch, but guarantee that every time a punch from a boxer connects it's lights out for a MMA fighter. Because these MMA guys aren't accustomed to the punching power of boxers. That's a fact.
And bringing a boxer into MMA is just like bringing an MMA into boxing. You're changing their fight. Take a boxer into MMA and you change what they can and are able to do as boxers don't train to throw kicks or fight on the ground. You put some MMA fighter in a boxing ring and you take away his legs and the ability to take them to the ground.
I'm not referring UFC as a sport, I know Mixed Martial Arts is the sport and I'm not saying M.M.A. fighters have no talent. I should've been more clear about what I was trying to say, my apologies on that one. I agree, fighters in SOME M.M.A. groups have amazing fighters, in fact, one of my favorite fighters of all time Fedor Emielenako (Sorry for the spelling). But the UFC is just a roster of overhyped people who can barely fight given a few fighters.
what do I have to be butt hurt about? 2 months ago I watched one of boxing's legends get served by a 49 year old MMA vet in under 3 minutes. it was like watching a fat ass out of shape punch drunk baby seal getting clubbed and choked to death by a hunter.. really was pathetic.. but I will give props to the seal for stepping up and signing on the dotted line.. what I would like to see is Hose Aldo take on Mayweather or Pacquiao but they refuse to fight each other...
@JayMann620 Its clear you have no knowledge about MMA because.
A. you refer to the sport of MMA as the UFC
B. you say for every 20 fighters in MMA there's still a a larger number of those who can't fight for shit and refuse to list names.. refuse? you don't know of any that in your eyes can't fight.
C. MMA fighters don't know how to fight standing up. EVERY MMA fighter trains stand up every single damn one of them.
(they really need to add more room to type on this fkin site...)
How is it clear I have no knowledge? Because I refuse to believe that a good majority of UFC fighters are finely trained in their stand up game? Go be butt hurt somewhere else.
@JayMann620 ok well this is a lost cause your telling me that boxers are WAY better at the stand up game then MMA fighters. well thats stating the obvious. when you have nothing but stand up in your sport to train for you better be the best at it. but so is saying MMA fighters are better at BJJ Wrestling Judo and Sambo then Boxers. so I'm going to end this conversation with you because its clear you have no knowledge about MMA and have no facts to back up your argument. the exit is to your left
You're the one who's trying to prove something, I honestly don't care if you think some sluggish fighters from the UFC can fight. Yes, I will admit that there are some who can fight VERY well, but the fact of the matter is, Boxers are trained way better and can fight standing up WAY better than majority of those from the UFC.
@JayMann620 ok list the fighters that can't fight for shit for me and we can discus them further.. and for the record that is a small portion of the MMA community I could list 50-60 more

@JayMann620 I couldn't agree with this more. Lesnar in a boxing element wouldn't last one round against the likes of lennox lewis in his prime.
