Camilo Mejía was the first soldier of the U.S Army that refused to go back to the war in Iraq and declare himself a conscientious objector. He denounced the atrocities and motives of the war and was therefore condemned to a year in prison. Dear Camilo tells the story of this young Nicaraguan/Costa Rican from the perspective of his high school friends. As son of the famous revolution singer songwriter Carlos Mejía and from a family with strong Sandinista roots, Camilo is now a symbol of the pacifist movement in the United States.
