@getnick77 You're right, the "founding fathers" did not create the 14th amendment. In, fact the 13th and 14th amendments would NEVER have been put in place during their time. Why is that? Obviously the "founding fathers" were not infallible and did not have all the answers to what makes our nation the best it can be. We tried smaller government with the Articles of Confederation. It was a disaster! That's why we have the Constitution now. Smaller gov't does not necessarily mean better gov't.
@TruthIsSin umm that wasn't really from the founding fathers, the 14th amendment was not conceived much less ratified until long after they were dead, however many founding fathers were against slavery which is what the 14th was reinforcing (see 13th amendment) you should really study the Constitution before making comments about it because you really look like an idiot when you make a comment about something you know nothing about.
We just got a 5% overall state income tax increase in Illinois. With that, AND the increase of health insurance (it doubled per paycheck). Illinois is getting VERY expensive to live in. I SHOULD mention, that they are ALSO not cutting spending. Makes more sense to me, to cut spending, and cut taxes, because more money would go into the economy that way, because there would be more to spend. ..Just saying.
I'll bet you fully support the 14th Amendment, and the words "anchor babies" never come out of your mouth. "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside". Either the founding fathers had it right or they didn't. Or do you just pick and choose what to support from the Constitution?
Ah, actually use and apply the constitution - so much better solution than a ConCon.
