Mark then outlines how contractors are using BIM and cloud-based data and mobile devices to foster better workflows. He notes that contractors care most about cost, schedule and constructability. Overall, Mark notes the trend is go from waste to real predictability, via application of BIM. The importance of accessing project data in the field via mobile devices is discussed.
Mark stresses that today there are thousands of construction firms using BIM today. With fabrication, Mark notes that construction if evolving to being a manufacturing process. Mark then discusses the value of Navisworks and Quantity Takeoff Autodesk software for construction to help extend BIM beyond design.
