I've never questioned if there was life elsewhere in the universe really..I recall from a very young age asking my parents, "Mom, dad if Jesus suffered and died for our sins then what about the other life on other planets?" They told me "Well God created the whole universe so why not, he'd be the savior of all life that needed redemption."
It just seems absurd to think life only exists here when there is Infinity and Eternity. We are so ignorant about our ignorance.

i like that you say "cosmos" rather than "universe"; so much like Carl Sagan.
and of course there are other life forms in the cosmos, it's silly to deny it. the Drake equation states that there are at least 10 forms of life that are at least as developed as humans but possibly hundreds in our galaxy alone. a galaxy of 400 billion suns, in a cosmos of hundreds of billions of galaxies.
