What is the optimum thickness for an aluminum absorber plate?
Do ready made aluminum fins work better than hand made aluminum flashing absorber plates?

  • so interesting, thanks i am doing my solar panel my own

  • the thicker one isn't conducting heat better..it has more thermal mass so it doesnt give up its heat to the air as quickly as the thin sheet and thats why u see the higher temp 4 inches away. in other words the thinner one is transfering heat to the air more quickly so by the time the heat reaches 4in it has been dissapated more effectively.peace.
