Jim Hession / Playera/ Nature Boy /jazzical

This jazz/classical rendition morphs into "Nature Boy" and then back again to end with Playera. Jim studied classical music with composer/concert pianist Oscar Rasbach,who was a student and disciple of Theodor Lestichitsky in Vienna in the early 1900's. Lestichitsky himself was a student of Franz Liszt who was a student of Carl Czerny who was a student of Beethoven. The piano method that Jim studied stressed each finger being able to independently control touch and dynamics. Jim is possibly the first pianist to apply this method to jazz styles. Rasbach was also renowned for the many years that he teamed with Sergei Rachmaninoff in performing duo piano transcriptions of Rachmaninoff's symphonic compositions. In retrospect Jim has said that what he learned under this teacher has been invaluable each day in every musical situation.

Really pyrotechnic comand performance very inventive...would be superb if more dynamic range, some pianissimos, some rubatos. Very stressed out...but of course it's what you MEANT! Bravo
