This is the overview of my 1911 magazine reviews. I will be reviewing the CMC Match Grade 8 round mag. The ACT 8 round mag, the 8 round CProducts mag and the Colt 8 round magfor alloy framed 1911's. I purchased these various mags to tryout in my new American Classic II to see which one or ones worked best in the pistol.

@roninpainbringer Only the Colt and the CMC Match Grade(without pad) fit flush. Any with the pad do extend below the the end of the grip. if you go and look at the videos I did on all the mags you will get a bit more information.

Skip the eight rounders in .45, at least for a gun used for defense. Why compromise a classic?

@faffaflunkie The CMC Match Grade magazines I use are no compromise in my pistol. Without the base pad they sit flush, with the base pad they are easily and quickly seated. They are 100% function and have had zero problems with various loads. They are my magazine of choice for my American Classic II for EDC. The other mags I have are OK for use at the range. They give me the occasional opportunity to practice malfunction drills.
