  • @DeathRowMetal wow you are lucky :)

  • @91tonymontana that's pete friesen man, he's my guitar teacher at ACM!

  • To me, the best grunge combined the sludgey psychedelia of Black Sabbath and Hendrix with the crunchyness and virtuosity of metal, (occasionally) the speed of punk, and the musical openmindedness of the 1960s. Which is why I think a lot of headbangers hated Skunkworks...a lot of headbangers are very closeminded. I say that as a former headbanger...but I also enjoy punk, jazz, R&B, and all kinds of music. The world is too big not to take artistic risks and LIVE a little, before you die! hehe

  • Bruce's other albums are a little to fantasy for me...Skunkworks is much more nonfiction/Scifi and that is precisely the kind of books that inspire me most. Alex Dickson had the talent to take the sound of Grunge and elevate it much much higher...like Ty Tabor did in King's X, and Billy Corgan in Smashing Pumpkins. To me, the best "grunge albums" of the 90's were Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins, Dogman by King's X, The "blue album" by Weezer and Skunkworks by Bruce Dickinson.

  • Skunkworks is an album I treasure...because Bruce is at his angriest, and he is angry about real issues in the world...war, nuclear bombardment, technology overrunning humanity. This is a wonderfully-nuanced and brilliant album...the only other thing in his solo career to come close is The Chemical Wedding. I have listened to each of his solo albums 20-30 times, but this one is my favorite. Alex Dickson is shining bright on this album...a fantastic guitarist. (continued)

  • I love pete! I wish i had him in more lectures at acm!

  • @sacktrick ok thanks=)
