Great performance by a Master! I also very much like Caruso and the young Pavarotti, the latter being my favorite. - Apparently Tosti liked Caruso's interpretation so much that he listened to it twice a day.

Of course, there are other very fine performances of this Tosti song, including those of Schipa, Pavarotti, Domingo, and Hadley, as well as the great baritone, Battistini. And Bjorling's own studio recording. This live performance, I think, is as great as any. Thanks for sharing!

Enrico Caruso's widow stated that Jussi Bjorling was the singer worthy to "inherit Caruso's mantel." I wish that he had lived longer and performed another 20 years so that we could have more modern recordings.
