Cant believe im saying this but that sports exhaust actually sounds pretty good.
-
That would be good. You dont see many austin allegro's these days except at shows. The series 3 was the best looking.
-
The car now has a 1275 inection engine from a 1996 Mini Cooper fitted. it will be on show at Tatton Park this year 28/29 August
-
ah the austin allagro. The A series engine was a good one. can be easily tuned but i hate OHV engines

for 95bhp u need at least a weber 40dcoe inlet, u say just water cooled inlet, so Im guessing u r sticking with horrible SU carb?
u also need gasflowed head along with cam, exhaust etc.
u should have just fitted a modded 1800 engine.

Yep - thats a 1.0 A+ engine, you can tell by the colour of the engine 1275cc A+ are red.

lmao cant believe someone done up an allegro lmao
isn't that a small a series 1.0L engine?? i'm sure it is by the sound of it, as the 1.3 engine sounds quite different.

yes this is an A+ fitted to the later Allegro 3's, but it has now been transplanted with a 1.4

nipperoid: "around 95bhp"..
I can tell you there is no way that engine is producing 95hp because: 1) location of breather reveals tappet chest covers so it's a small bore A-Series 998cc or 1098cc at best not a 1275+ 2) You need 1.5:1 ratio rockers for 95hp which don't fit under a standard rocker cover 3) no way that standard induction tract has sufficient cfm for 95hp 4) looks like standard carb and dizzy.
Sorry mate but you are simply dreaming. Hang out with Mini lads and learn something.
