@Ahashdah there is another facet of that too, Brenda Lafferty was brutally murdered along with her infant daughter according to the way prescribed by LDS temple penalties in 1984 over a spat about LDS doctrine with her MORmON In laws. LDS Inc may have realized they needed to knock off their brutalistic temple crap, because certain ppl actually took it seriously just the way the LDS cult suggests. Then again LDS Inc may be so insensitive/stupid that Brenda's Murder never registered with them.

When I had heard that (now dead) Apostle David B Haight had been born into a family that would not have had children had Isaac O. Quorum of the Seventy, giving an interesting talk, in ~1981. I took good notes, when he spoke; and, I liked what he had to say. The "Regulators" sanitized the GA's talk, by re-working it, for the May Ensign issue. Whitewash!
