Clio Diagnostics / Fault Finding Mode

The diagnostics mode in most Clios lets you check the function of your dash, get a litre reading for your fuel tank, view fuel consumption in litres per hour and... most usefully... view if there are any stored codes and what system they relate to.

Hold down the end of the stalk and turn on the ignition. Press the same button to go through the readings.

t mean an injection fault has been detected for a minimum of 4 seconds
J means a fault has been noted on the fuel gauge. It must have disconnected for longer than 100 seconds. The resistance from the fuel tank sensor needs to be between 5 and 350 Ohms.
d means an injection signal fault has been detected
h means an oil level sensor fault has been detected. Resistance from the sensor should be between 6 and 20 Ohms. Any reading over 20Ohms is an open cicuit anything under 3 is a short circuit.

If no faults are logged then dashes will show fixed dashes.

Press the reset button to clear the logged faults. Other faults arn't shown on the display.

I think it's the coil light, or maybe denotes an electrical problem.

I have the letter T come up, is this something i should be worried about? (not very good with cars) Advice and help would be much appreciated.

@Danke4ever hello i had the same problem with my clio 2 months ago it was glowing almost everytime and i had to switch off the car and then restart it again to stop it. When it was glowing my car was experiencing speed problems like the needle stuck in 2000rpm or needle was trembling and then stopped running. This is usually a compex problem. The technician said it was the throttle's problem. I changed some parts (i dont know the term in english sorry) and now its as good as new! hope i helped

Do you know the meaning of the lamp which is second in 3rd row, just under the petrol lamp [between the left and right arrow]. It started glowing in my Clio, and I don't know what it is....pls, anyone?

Just done this on mine and it had a t at the start of the 4 dashes... I've only just had the belts done about 3 weeks ago and it was plugged in then to solve a temperamental cruise control issue.. Guy told me no other faults have been read.. Would I have noticed a faulty injector whilst driving since then? The car has been running fine so should I do anything about it? :-S I'm assuming your a mechanic ,:-S

Clio as a first car do you think? I'm not too sure because of the strange driving position and the reported unreliability..
