  • @Mindtage are you referring to hans zimmer? because he ripped this off.... this is years before true romance and carl orff is hundreds of years before both hahaha

  • @thissy01 : "Gassenhauer" is a lute piece from the late Renaissance, arranged for percussion instruments and recorder (this version) by Gunild Keetman in the late 50's. She worked in close collaboration with C. Orff on developing the children music "method" known as "Orff Schulwerk", and was herself an accomplished composer.

  • I have tracked down the 6 dislikes and wish to share there stories.

    6. This is so "not" cool. rip off!

    5. Martin Sheen is a friggin communist!

    4. Sounds kinda faggy to me.

    3. I hate myself, therefore I hate.

    2. Oops spilt bong and hit wrong button.

    1. How the hell does this help me book my trip to Wall Drug?

  • This has a "dreamier" feel to it than the album version.

I find the movie and the music hypnotic and addictive. There are a lot of strange messages in Badlands, some repeat often. I put it on just to listen to when building stuff or working on my house. An odd, beautiful movie from an odd, beautiful time in this country.

  • @mma4life23 sort of. It's an homage. Listen to the two, one after the other and you can spot differences. What makes them sound similar are the marimbas.

  • Is your so cool by Hans zimmer a cover of this

  • hi, thanks for your email. not sure who did it but it was an instrumental pop song, around the 60's - 70's. heard it quite a few times on the radio. if i find out any more, could let you know if you like.

  • @youshite Do you mean Elizabethan Serenade by Ronald Binge or the reggae version by Boris Gardiner? Not heard of Victorian Serenade.

  • @AbeGrimes

i'm a kindred spirit and did much the same thing then, saw the same films and was a bit of a lost spirit in those days. there was also a pop song out about then called 'victorian serenade'. looked for on youtube but cant find it.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • During the late 60's early 70's, I went to the cinema alone quite often. I saw quite a few films "by accident" as it were, as I'd gone to see the "support feature" that was on with the main film. They did that in those days, 2 films for your money. Get Carter, Kes and this were all discovered purely by chance. This piece of music haunted me for years as I couldn't recall it's title and everyone I asked looked at me blank when I told them it was from Badlands. Now I have it on CD. Superb.

  • Terrence Malick is a genius, the movie "Badlands" is just one of the best I've seen so far !
